When you go to a Doctor for a health problem, do want the doctor to fix the problem or just patch it up? We all know what a patch is. Most road crews patch up a pot hole only to come back and do it again when the patch is ruined. We put a patch on our pants but it begins to pull away from the pants within a short time because the patch is not as sturdy as the pants. Patches are temporary. Most doctors do not get requests for patch up jobs.
I can’t ever remember a patient telling me, “Hey Doc, just patch this spinal problem up so I can keep coming back to you the rest of my life when the patch blows up and the problem comes back.” It only makes sense to fix the problem once and for all so you don’t have to go back to the doctor over and over again for the same thing. That is no fun for you and really no fun for the doctor either. |

Our goal with every patient that walks into the office is to make the correct diagnosis (figure out what the problem is), offer different treatment options, explain all the costs, and let the patient decide what is best for him or herself. It is the patient’s health and the patient should be the one to decide not the doctor. As a doctor I like to fix things and if it is possible, fixing it is the best way to go of course.
When it comes to over-all health the spine must protect the spinal nerves so the nerves can communicate to all the body parts what to do. If the person has poor posture, then the nerves will be compromised. Health will deteriorate and that is a fact. When was the last time you saw someone old or young with terrible posture and said, “Now there goes a really healthy person”! Lose your good posture and lose your good health.
It is better to fix the posture so you will remain healthy. We can do a patch it job and make you feel better but your posture will continue to deteriorate and eventually you have no more choices. We give you the facts and you decide…Fix or Patch it? |
